Job Description

Digital Communications and Social Media, Advanced Specialist
Coordinates and manages the online presence for DENSO in North America. The Digital Communications and Social Media Advanced Specialist role is responsible for enhancing our internal and external communication initiatives through digital communications and social media. This position is responsible for assisting in the design, creation, development, production, execution and evaluation of DENSO’s online presence and materials, and for developing compelling content ideal for digital and social spaces (including, but not limited to the company website, online newsroom, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter). May also support media relations activities, such as writing and editing news releases, Q&As, fact sheets and backgrounders.
  Specific Responsibilities:   Website and Online Newsroom
  • Responsible for North American website and online newsroom site development and maintenance
    • Strong input into design and usability of websites, working with external vendor and global headquarters
    • Together with global communications team, develops content and provides continual updates
    • Manage search engine optimization and provide content strategy to drive people to the websites
    • Analyze and report on web traffic, analytics and engagement for website and social media channels
    • Stay abreast of current trends and initiatives that impact online presence
  • Supports global website and online newsroom development and updates
    • Provides input and guidance to global communications team
    • Must stay abreast of all company information, changes and trend

Social Media

  • Responsible for leading social media communications planning and implementation, including content development, for DENSO’s current and future social media channels
    • Manage and grow presence current social media channels and also explore entry into other social media channels
    • Collaborate with internal and external communications teams to develop social communications campaigns that leverage the social media space
    • Track social media trends and changes that may impact social media goals and objectives and/or DENSO’s social media policy
    • Research social media strategies and trends and recommend ways these approaches can be executed internally to engage associates and externally to engage media and other key influencers
    • Track, maintain and leverage measurement tools to provide progress reports and mine insights, while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives

Media Relations

  • Develop and edit news releases, Q&A, fact sheets and backgrounders
  • Support with proactive media relations outreach
  • Support with proactive media relations as it relates to social media channels
  • Support corporate, community and business events as needed


  • Assist in creation of North American video needs that will be distributed on website, social media channels, presentation library, etc.
  • Manages digital asset library, such as video and images that can be used across social channels

Job Requirements

. Job Requirements:
  • At least 3-5 years of writing, editing and crafting content for the social media space
  • At least 3-5 years of experience with publishing, social media, web and mobile platforms; content management systems, and web applications
  • Formal education or practical experience in planning, managing and executing social media strategies.


  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging messages for different communication vehicles and audiences
  • Proficiency in use of web content management systems and SEO optimization
  • Understanding of information architecture for websites
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create, or work collaboratively with creative resources to develop, images and infographics
  • Experience using html, CSS, Wordpress and other CMS platforms as well as SEO best practices
  • Experience using Google analytics
  • Detail oriented with critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills
  • Excellent teaming and collaboration
  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications/Marketing, Communications, Advertising/Marketing or Journalism
