Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Actively enrolled in ABET accredited program in Plastics, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Enrolled in 2 or more classes pertaining to major for at least 50% of academic school year.  
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must possess a GPA of  3.0 or higher
  • Highly motivated & technically competent.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willing to work overtime when required.
  Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Design change modifications to existing aluminum stamping dies for quality improvements or engineering shape change(ECI) requests.  Process include using 3D UG to design, creation and documentation of change on 2D prints, work with Tool and Die department to implement the change and verification and approval of the change before production can being.
  • Design of jigs and fixtures for performing quality checks, aiding assembly, and robot end of arm tooling.
  • Lead improvement activities for safety, quality, delivery and cost reduction.
  • Preform weight and dimensional capability studies for both injection mold and aluminum stamped products.
  • Updating mold and stamping die 3D data and 2D prints.
  • Department storage room organization and cleaning.
  • Measurement of plastic and stamped parts for quality checks verification.
  • Assisting engineers with new plastic injection molds and aluminum stamping die first trials.
  Preferences:
  • Some experience with 3D CAD design software.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and modify 2D prints.
  • Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word efficient.
  • Highly motivated & technically competent.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willing to work overtime when required.
