Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MUST meet minimum qualifications to be considered) Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Manufacturing Engineering.  At least two years’ experience specifying and procuring equipment for manufacturing processes.   

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent oral and written communication skills, highly motivated and technically competent, innovative problem-solver that incorporates the plan, do, check, action methods.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, time management and organization skills.  Ability to negotiate and prioritize, ability to multitask, willingness to travel (to support other group DENSO companies, customers, suppliers, etc.)  Excellent self-management and project management skills (ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously).  Ability to work in a team environment.  Willingness to work overtime when required.  Highly capable in the use of Microsoft Office Applications.    PREFERENCES Experience justifying and receiving approval of capital expenditures  Knowledge in CAD software (AutoCAD and Solidworks).  Proactive mindset to seek out and implement additional tasks that will add value to DMMI.  Experience in heat exchanger manufacturing and final assembly process. Prefer automotive industry experience.  Ability to read and understand GD&T, PFMEA & CONTROL PLAN Training, knowledgeable of IATF requirements.  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project leadership. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Production/Process Engineering or related area.    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Lead new product launches for OEMs.  Create new processes, machines, jigs and tools for new product introduction, capacity increase and improvements.  Design ergonomic workstations, lines, and tools to minimize safety risk.  Decide assembly line or cell concept based on product design characteristics and process requirements.  Design process layout and change existing facility layout to accommodate new equipment and plant layout reformation projects.  Establish prototype processes that are utilized to learn and develop the mass production process.  Estimate labor and investment costs based on product concept to quote new business.  Suggest product design changes to optimize manufacturing safety, quality and efficiency.  Use PFMEA tool to identify potential product and process failures.  Design and implement quality control systems that minimize risk.  Effectively train production management and associates how to perform a task.  Create and give presentations for key New Product Introduction meetings and prototype development.  Work to improve processes.  Show payback and achieve executive approval for proposals considering cost, quality and delivery.  Support mass production processes.  Create and maintain PFMEA and Control Plan documentation  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job you may be asked to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component parts weighing up to 35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds with a lift assist, work on the production line for short periods of time, use hands to handle or feel parts, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, frequent phone use and typing.  The work environment will vary from an open office setting to a production environment.
