Job Description

Responsibilities include managing product development, and implementing marketing activities to maximize sales of an assigned brand, product positioning, and vehicle application cataloging.  Resolves issues that are differing but related requiring sophisticated analytical or problem solving techniques to identify cause. Anticipates changing market conditions and create opportunities for DENSO. Analyzes brand performance, brand competitiveness, and product trends in the marketplace and develop strategies for assigned brand based on research and analysis.  Implements a marketing and sales strategy for one or more of the organization's products/product lines to meet established sales or market share targets.  Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates product performance and customer feedback to generate new product ideas and identify product features that need to be changed to meet customer needs. Works with sales team to identify and implement appropriate sales strategies.  Ensure open communication lines to effectively collaborate with internal DENSO departments and customers.

Job Requirements

  • Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university and 5+ year’s related sales or brand management experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Prior product management, sales, pricing development, profitability management, forecasting, marketing, and/or analytical experience preferred.  Previous automotive aftermarket experience is preferred.

  • Manages assigned products/product line(s), including preparing and coordinating product introductions and updates. Establishes product launch project schedules and ensure timely attainment of targets. Advises sales team of any product delays or concerns.

  • Analyzes brand performance, competitiveness and product trends in the marketplace and, based upon this research and analysis, develops short and mid-term strategies for assigned products.

  • Collaborates with the sales and marketing groups to develop strategies to grow sales and market share, coordinate communication objectives, and develop marketing materials such as printed catalogs, price sheets, packaging, etc.

  • Must be experienced in developing annual written sales plans for assigned products/product line(s). Regularly monitors the status of sales against plan. Negotiate and manage the terms and conditions of supply agreements, both company-owned and outsourced.

  • Meets regularly with both customers and suppliers to improve sales growth, profitability, and market share and program quality. Answers product knowledge and technical questions posed by customers. Coordinates and works to resolve channel conflicts.

  • Experience with developing annual written sales plans for assigned products/product line(s). Regularly monitors the status of sales against plan. Negotiates the terms and conditions of supply agreements.

  • Develops and delivers presentations to management regarding product program status and results.

  • Proposes, manages, and continually monitors pricing, margins, FOB and profitability.

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the company’s multi-department product development activities, including the development of printed catalogs, e-cat data, inventory levels, sales training, packaging, price sheets, collateral materials, and advertising.

  • Completes special projects as directed by department management.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet search engines.

  • Familiarity with MS Project, cataloging and inventory databases (e.g. AS400/BPCS), preferred.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.

  • Must be able to travel up to 30%.
