MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MUST meet minimum qualifications to be considered) Bachelor degree OR 8 yrs. related experience OR Associate’s Degree + 4 yrs. related experience.  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project leadership or 2 years supervisory experience.

 



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Takes initiative and responsibility for development of project team regarding continuous improvement of overall effectiveness.  Assures Associates are trained and assigns senior personnel to train others.  Excellent written, verbal and negotiation skills (including presentations to Management).  Conflict management skills involving cross-functional personnel as well as customers.  Reads and understands technical documents (drawings, specifications, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, material certifications, dimensional analysis results, etc.).  Basic knowledge of customers, suppliers and trends in the automotive industry.  Proven history of self-motivation with ability to multitask given various priorities.  Conflict management skills involving cross-functional personnel as well as customers and suppliers.   PREFERENCES 3-5 years’ experience in Quality Engineering roles. Supplier / Customer related experience and understanding of automotive OEM customer expectations (process documentation, quality standards, etc.) is strongly preferred.  Understands 1 or more advanced quality tools (Design of Experiments, ANOVA, Six Sigma, Statistical Engineering, etc.) Experience developing project management tools as needed.  Shows a track record of solving problems in a cross-functional team setting including “high visibility” customer related problems.  Can plan, organize, execute and follow-up on large cross-functional meetings.  Experience working outside of the Quality Function and can demonstrate organizational understanding  

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The New Product Section Leader is responsible for all Quality Functions related to New Product Launch, including but not limited to: Overseeing the creation  product evaluation test plans (Quality Standards); Supplier Part Approvals, Customer Final assembly approvals; Coordination/execution of gate meetings within Denso; The New Product Section Leader will also address customer claims and complaints, trial issues, problem identification, containment activities, interim countermeasures, root cause analysis, permanent countermeasures, and process auditing.  Job may require periodic travel to customer and suppliers; Management & Human Resource Development:  Contribute significantly to Company and Department G&O process; Continuous Drive for Achievement - especially self-motivated, takes ownership and perseveres by maintaining self and team focus to achieve goals.  Supervises, coordinates and evaluates the work of a cross-functional team or department of exempt associates by coaching; Develop Engineer's training (IDP).  Customer Focus - especially promotes customer focus for associates, practice DENSO Spirit quality principles.  Effective communication - adapts interaction style to the audience and translates concepts into understandable, defined plans  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job you may be asked to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component parts weighing up to 35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds with a lift assist, work on the production line for short periods of time, use hands to handle or feel parts, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, frequent phone use and typing.  The work environment will vary from an open office setting to a production environment.
