REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Candidate must possess strong skills relating to critical thinking, task organization and prioritization, risk management and work efficiency.   Written, verbal and presentation communication skills are crucial.  Effective use of Microsoft Office tools.  

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Engineer position is with Quality Engineering Department,  This Engineer's  focus is primarily on change management. Position includes, but is not limited to decisions to approve internal and external (Supplier) changes for shipment to customer, Engineer will coordinate overall DENSO quality and other company activities relating to Change management of production product approval process (PPAP) or Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) of current models, Lead PECR approval activity from submittal through approval.  Lead PECR system improvement activities.  Approve supplier PECR plans and facilitate approvals.  Review supplier PECR submissions for accuracy and content.  Prepare customer approval documentation related to gaining PECR approval.  Train in-house departments and supply base on PECR procedure and requirements.   PREFERENCES Experience in areas of Project Management or Quality functions.  Experience presenting to OEM customers such as Denso Tac companies, Chrysler, GM, Ford, Toyota or others.  Basic knowledge of DENSO business model (from request-for-quote to start of production and service).  Knowledge of AIAG Blue Books (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc.).  Self starter and good common-sense approach to work.  Strong organizational skills.  Strong attention to detail.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job you may be asked to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component parts weighing up to 35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds with a lift assist, work on the production line for short periods of time, use hands to handle or feel parts, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, frequent phone use and typing.  The work environment will vary from an open office setting to a production environment.
